911 Emergency Careers Boot Camp

The 911 Emergency Careers Boot Camp was a program provided by the joint efforts of the Inland Coalition (IC), Latino Health Collaborative (LHC) and the Health Workforce Initiative (HWI). Students attending high school in the Rialto Unified School District and the San Bernardino Unified School District took this opportunity to learn more about careers in the emergency medical field. Over the course of this 5-day camp, students were exposed to various aspects of nursing, EMT, firefighting and other emergency careers. There were nearly 50 students who signed up! View a brief video about the camp or check out the photo album. The students were so impacted by their experience that many expressed a desire to pursue an emergency healthcare career. They also created a group page to stay in touch.
