PharmDay at Western University of Health Sciences will introduce high school students in the Baldy View area, to the pharmacy profession. During PharmDay, students will learn how the field of pharmacy is made up of a number of disciplines including health care, science, business, computer technology, math, and counseling. Clinic setting: Students will be exposed to the clinical setting and learn how to use blood pressure monitors to understand the difference between systolic and diastolic blood pressures.
Lab setting: Students will also participate in a compounding activity where they will create a lip balm, facial cream, or tooth paste.
Tour: The day will wrap up with a tour of Western University of Health Sciences, one of the biggest health science universities in the state.
